Darren's Trusty 1987 Raleigh Elkhorn

by Igor Shteynbuk

This is my 1987 Raleigh Elkhorn. I received this bike as my high school graduation present from my parents. The bike has been through multiple moves and somehow I always kept it. This is the bike that sparked my excitement for cycling and I suppose that is why it was always a priority to keep, even when moving back and forth between Arizona and Oregon. Last year I finally set out to rebuild it. It was probably the nostalgia that motivated me initially, but what resulted was a truly fine riding wonderful bike. Velo Orange had the right parts to complete my ride. From the striking metallic braided cables to the Seine handlebars that gives it the perfect upright ride!
