Ostrich Panniers

These are very sturdy and traditional panniers that would look right at home on a 1950's Rene Herse camping bike. In fact they an almost identical to the French bags used on so many classic touring bikes. Ostrich bags are made in Japan by a small company that has been producing traditional bike luggage for over 50 years.

The laces on the ends allow you to secure loads for rough roads or to change the capacity of the pannier. There is an additional leather strap inside to secure or compress bulky items.

They measure 130mm deep, 350mm long and 300mm tall with a 13 liter capacity (each). That's big enough for commuters who need to carry extra cloths or for grocery shopping, Though they are actually made for long distance touring. The attachment is via traditional leather straps, not hooks.
