The Spanninga dynamo is popular with popular with European commuters and city cyclists. There are plenty of reasons to use a sidewall dynamo. A sidewall dynamo creates only a little more drag than a hub generator, but only when in use. Unlike a hub generator, it creates no additional drag when in the "off" position. Plus you can change wheels without loosing power and it's inexpensive.
6V, 3w, so they power almost any dynamo light and put out exactly the same amount of juice as hub dynamos. Since many European bikes have braze-on dynamo mounts, the clamp-on mount is sold separately. Left side mount only.
